About the 182E
The Cessna 182E is a type-certificated, fixed-wing single-engine light airplane built in the United States. Suited for private operators and general aviation pilots, it features a four-seat configuration with the option for additional child seating in the baggage area, and utilizes a single air-cooled flat-six engine paired with a constant-speed propeller.
Introduced as a tricycle gear variant of an earlier model, the aircraft gained a deluxe designation in subsequent production years. Over time, manufacturing incorporated a wider fuselage, a swept tailfin featuring a rear window, and an enlarged baggage compartment. Alongside domestic production, assembly was also undertaken abroad in Argentina and France. Although traditional avgas-fueled versions experienced pauses in manufacturing, variants continued to evolve with updated powerplant considerations.
