About the HK 36 TS

The Diamond Aircraft Industries HK 36 TS is an Austrian type-certificated T-tailed motor glider designed for two occupants in a side-by-side layout. Constructed entirely from fibreglass, the aircraft series features folding wings and a bubble canopy, and is suited for touring and recreational flying.

Initiated by Wolf Hoffmann and developed through various manufacturing entities, the initial version achieved certification in the mid-1980s. Subsequent variants introduced enhancements like winglets and more powerful engines, allowing certain models to perform glider towing. The family achieved commercial success, served as a testbed for fuel cell research, and provided the engineering foundation for several later aircraft models.

The HK 36 TS is a variant of the Diamond HK 36 Ttc. Other variants: HK 36 "Super Dimona", HK 36 TC, HK 36 Ttc-Eco, HK 36R Super Dimona, HK-36TTS.
