About the Ash 25 M

The A.Schleicher & ASH 25 M is a high-performance, type-certificated Open Class glider designed for two occupants in a tandem seating arrangement. It is a fixed-wing sailplane featuring a single engine and offers excellent cross-country soaring capabilities suited for competitive and recreational pilots.

Designer Martin Heide created the aircraft by combining the wings of a championship-winning single-seat glider with an exceptionally low-drag fuselage derived from research aircraft. Over its manufacturing lifespan by Alexander Schleicher, the wingspan was increased and various auxiliary propulsion options were introduced, including turbo variants and self-launching versions equipped with a retractable propeller and a Wankel engine, before eventually being succeeded by newer models.
