D-KBPT – You won’t find a better self-launching two-seater at this price. It is an excellent trainer in the 25-meter version—and superior to the ASH 30 with its 26-meter wingspan. The outer wing panels were refinished with a new PU coating a year ago. The glider has undergone its 3,000-hour overhaul, which included the replacement of certain fittings. The fuselage and horizontal stabilizer received a new acrylic finish five years ago; the inner wing panels had been refinished prior to that. The finish on the inner panels shows some scratches that are easily touched up. The inner flap is scheduled for repainting this winter due to cracking in the finish. The original MidWest engine (now Austro Engine) is reliable; it is either used regularly or preserved for periods of inactivity and runs flawlessly.
