About the Dhc-1 Chipmunk 23 (Lycoming)
The De Havilland Canada DHC-1 CHIPMUNK 23 (LYCOMING) is a single-engine, fixed-wing primary trainer featuring a tandem two-seat layout and a low-mounted wing. It suits flight instruction and aerobatic flying.
Developed shortly after the Second World War by a Canadian manufacturer, the type completed its maiden flight in May 1946 as its creator's first postwar aviation project. The vast majority of airframes were built under license in the United Kingdom, serving extensively with military air arms before many were transitioned to civilian owners for private use and aerobatics.
The Dhc-1 Chipmunk 23 (Lycoming) is a variant of the De Havilland Canada Dhc-1. Other variants: Dhc-1 Chipmunk 22, Dhc-1 Chipmunk 22 (Lycoming), Dhc-1 Chipmunk Mk 21, Dhc-1A Chipmunk, Dhc-1B-2.
