About the 42 MU

The Zlin Aero A.S 42 MU is a Czech single-engine, fixed-wing amateur-built aircraft configured for two seats. Primarily functioning as a trainer, it is particularly suited for aerobatic instruction and general flight training.

Developed in Czechoslovakia as a follow-on to earlier tandem trainers, the type features a side-by-side seating arrangement and a welded steel tube fuselage center section paired with all-metal wings. Subsequent iterations introduced various engine changes and refined cowlings. Beyond training roles, modified examples have occasionally seen operational use in unconventional combat missions by foreign entities.
