About the Emeraude

The Piel EMERAUDE is a fixed-wing, low-wing monoplane featuring a tailwheel undercarriage and enclosed side-by-side seating for two occupants. Powered by a single air-cooled flat-four engine, this aircraft layout suits both factory production and amateur homebuilders looking for a classic wooden sport aircraft.

Originally conceived in France during the mid-1950s using timber construction, the design was later revised with a strengthened airframe and refined aerodynamics to qualify for aerobatics. Various versions were subsequently manufactured internationally under different names, including licensed variants produced in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
