About the CH200

The Zenair CH-200 is an all-metal, fixed-wing homebuilt aircraft configured with two side-by-side seats beneath a sliding canopy. Designed by Christopher Heintz and produced by Zenair, this single-engine aircraft suits amateur builders and private owners seeking an affordable machine for cross-country touring and limited aerobatics.

The prototype first flew in the 1970s after the designer relocated to Canada, establishing a lineage of metal kit aircraft that spawned several derivatives. Constructed from stiffened skins riveted to longerons, the type can accept various powerplants and landing gear arrangements, including tailwheel or tricycle configurations, and has been adapted for floats and skis by operators in different regions.
