About the CH-250
The Zenith Acft CH-250 is a single-engine, low-winged monoplane intended for amateur homebuilders and aviation enthusiasts. It features a metallic airframe with a fixed nosewheel undercarriage and a sideways-opening plexiglas canopy over a side-by-side cockpit for two occupants.
Engineered by Chris Heintz, the prototype made its maiden flight in France in the spring of 1970. The designer later relocated and established a company to distribute plans and material kits to builders. Hundreds of examples have been completed and flown. Demonstrating the simplicity of the construction method, a factory-led team once utilized volunteer labor to assemble and fly a related prototype in just over a week during an annual convention.
