About the D-140 Mousquetaire

The Jodel D-140 Mousquetaire is a French fixed-wing monoplane designed for light touring and utility duties. Built around a single-engine configuration, it accommodates up to five occupants, making it suitable for private aviators and aero clubs seeking a versatile multi-passenger aircraft.

Société Aéronautique Normande developed this larger multi-seat transport from its earlier licensed manufacturing of lighter Jodel models. The prototype accomplished its maiden flight in the late nineteen-fifties. Subsequent iterations included a glider-towing variant, with multiple factory-built examples and amateur homebuilt assemblies taking to the skies. The airframe saw adoption by military aviation branches and remained active with flying clubs for decades.

The D-140 Mousquetaire is a variant of the Jodel D-140 Abeille. Other variants: D140E.
