About the Eagle II

The Aviat Eagle II is an American aerobatic sporting biplane built for amateur homebuilding. It is well suited for pilots seeking precision aerobatic performance and features a tandem two-seat configuration with a single piston engine.

Originally created by a designer from Utah to rival another popular aerobatic model, the aircraft is supplied in kit form. It utilizes a welded steel tube fuselage paired with wooden wings, all fabric-covered, alongside a fixed tailwheel undercarriage. A famous formation flight team adopted the type for their airshow performances, eventually leading to the display of their retired aircraft in a museum lobby.
