About the Callair A-9
The Aero Commander CallAir A-9 is a single-seat, fixed-wing agricultural aircraft manufactured in the United States. It features a braced low-wing configuration and a single engine, making it well-suited for crop-dusting and aerial spraying operations, as well as occasional glider towing.
Originating from a lineage of light utility and agricultural machines, the aircraft is constructed with a fabric-covered steel-tube fuselage and a wood-and-fabric wing. The pilot is positioned behind a chemical hopper within an enclosed cockpit accessed through side windows. Manufacturing rights passed through several companies, including a period under Rockwell International and later through a joint venture in Mexico, before production ultimately concluded.
