About the 2150 Kachina

The Varga Aircraft 2150 Kachina is an all-metal, fixed-gear, low-wing light aircraft featuring a tricycle undercarriage and tandem seating for two occupants. Driven by a single piston engine, this fixed-wing type is suited for general aviation use and remains widely utilized in the United States, alongside active operations in South America and Europe.

Originally conceived in the late nineteen forties by an American designer as a wood-and-fabric machine, the project transitioned into an all-metal configuration powered by a different engine family. Manufacturing rights passed through multiple firms before assembly took place in Arizona. A tailwheel variant and an alternative engine option were also produced during the manufacturing run, which concluded in the early nineteen eighties.
