About the T-23 Uirapuru

The Aerotec (1) T-23 Uirapuru is a single-engine military trainer aircraft featuring a low-wing monoplane layout with a tricycle undercarriage. It is designed to accommodate a student pilot and an instructor sitting side-by-side. It suits basic flight instruction duties for air forces.

Following its maiden flight in June 1965, the type was adopted by multiple South American military academies to replace obsolete training fleets. Early operational hurdles involving spin training were successfully resolved through the addition of a ventral fin. Production concluded in the late nineteen-seventies, with a total of 155 units constructed including prototypes.
