About the F406
The Reims Aviation F406 is a twin-turboprop utility aircraft featuring a low-wing monoplane layout of conventional metal construction and a multi-seat cabin. It is designed to suit passenger transport, light cargo hauling, and specialized civilian or military surveillance roles for operators requiring multi-engine redundancy.
Developed in cooperation with Cessna as a twin-turboprop progression of an earlier piston model, the type first took to the air in the early nineteen-eighties and remained in production for decades. The airframe accommodates optional belly cargo pods for increased freight capacity, and later corporate transitions saw the type's manufacturing rights and support transfer internationally.
