About the Q200
Quickie Q200 is a two-seat amateur-built kit aircraft utilizing a tandem wing configuration with a forward canard and a rear main wing. It features composite construction and a taildragger landing gear arrangement integrated into the forward wing tips.
Developed as a multi-seat progression from a single-seat design without initial involvement from the original creator, the layout incorporates forward-wing elevators and inboard ailerons on the rear wing to manage pitch and yaw. Early versions suffered from propeller ground clearance issues on flexible spars, which were later resolved through the adoption of stiff carbon fiber spars.
