About the Drifter

The Lockwood Aircraft DRIFTER is a fixed-wing homebuilt kit aircraft with a pusher configuration and an open cockpit layout. Accommodating one or two seats depending on the version, it suits pilots interested in warm-weather exploring, low-altitude flying, and short trips.

Originally introduced in the 1980s, the design has been produced by multiple companies and features an aluminum tube keel with wire-braced or strut-braced wings covered in Dacron sailcloth. Over the years, various versions have been developed using different engine options, and thousands of kits have been completed and flown globally.
