About the Twinstar MK III
The Kolb Twinstar Mk III is an American fixed-wing ultralight aircraft configured with a single engine in a pusher layout. Developed for amateur construction and sold in kit form, this high-wing, strut-braced model features a conventional landing gear setup and side-by-side seating for two people.
Originally paired with a two-stroke powerplant, subsequent versions adopted alternative engines. The airframe utilizes a welded steel tubing front fuselage joined to an aluminum tailboom, alongside riveted aluminum flying surfaces covered in aircraft fabric. For ease of storage and trailering, the wings and horizontal tail fold quickly without tools.
