About the A-20

The Aeroprakt A-20 is an ultralight amateur-built fixed-wing aircraft of Ukrainian origin. Configured as a tandem two-seat, high-wing, strut-braced pusher, it suits recreational flyers and enthusiasts interested in light sport aviation. Its basic layout includes conventional landing gear combined with a composite forward fuselage and fabric-covered wings and tail surfaces.

Development commenced at the start of the decade, leading to initial flights of prototypes and production models in subsequent years. The airframe relies on a low-drag philosophy to achieve acceptable utility from modest power plants, though various engine alternatives have been utilized. Notable for its competitive capability, an example of the family secured a victory in a continental championship event.
