About the PA-14

The Piper PA-14 Family Cruiser is an American type-certificated fixed-wing aircraft configured with a single engine and four seats. Designed as a high-wing tailwheel monoplane, it was developed to provide family transportation and practical utility for private pilots.

Evolved from an earlier three-seat model by widening the cabin and adding slotted flaps, the prototype first took to the air in the late nineteen-forties. Although production ended after a limited run as postwar market conditions shifted, surviving examples found a dedicated following among bush pilots and vintage enthusiasts, supported by a specialized network of parts suppliers and technical associations.
