About the Sky Raider
The Flying K Enterprises Sky Raider is an American single-engine ultralight aircraft featuring a high wing, strut-braced layout and conventional landing gear. Designed for amateur construction, it suits recreational flyers seeking a fully enclosed cabin that provides protection during cooler weather conditions.
The aircraft was created by Ken Schrader, building upon his prior experience with similar lightweight designs, and was later produced by multiple firms in Idaho. Constructed using a steel tube fuselage framework and aluminum-tubed fabric-covered wings, the model incorporates folding wings for simplified transport. It is distributed in kit form, accommodates floats or skis, and can be configured to comply with various ultralight and homebuilt categories depending on the installed power plant and weight.
