About the DG-100

The Glaser-Dirks DG-100 is a German single-seat standard-class sailplane classified as a type-certificated glider. Suited for individual pilots, it is constructed from composite materials such as glass-fibre reinforced plastic and features top-surface airbrakes.

Conceived as the manufacturer's maiden sailplane design originating from earlier academic research projects, the aircraft underwent several successive developments, introducing alternative canopy configurations, improved cockpits, and different tailplane layouts. Certain variants were later manufactured internationally by another company, identified by specific fuselage markings and prefix characters. Although originating decades ago, these gliders remain popular and competitive in club and sports class contests.

{# the label links to these aircraft for sale, built in that span. On the label and not the count: the bands count every aircraft on the market (on_market) while the grid shows only those with a photo (live), so the count is not a promise of how many cards appear. A band cached before year_min existed renders as plain text rather than a link to an unfiltered list. #}
