About the 223 Flamingo

The Casa 223 Flamingo is a single-engine, fixed-wing light aircraft created in West Germany as an entry for a standard aeroclub trainer competition. Designed as a low-wing monoplane featuring a tricycle undercarriage, it houses its occupants beneath a spacious bubble canopy. The layout accommodates two people in a pilot and instructor configuration.

The initial designer was SIAT, prior to the company's acquisition by MBB and the subsequent transfer of manufacturing operations to Spain. Alongside the primary training variant, creators also developed an acrobatic single-seat model and a utility version with room for four occupants. Years later, airframes stored by the Syrian Air Force were destroyed during airstrikes in the conflict in Idlib.
