About the RS-180 Sportsman

The Sportavia Putzer RS-180 Sportsman is a German fixed-wing sport aircraft featuring a low-wing cantilever monoplane layout and a single engine. Designed to suit private pilots and passengers, it provides a four-seat capacity arranged in a 2+2 configuration beneath a large bubble canopy, utilizing a fixed tricycle undercarriage.

Originating from designs initiated in the 1970s, the aircraft underwent significant prototype development and redesigns—including alterations to the empennage and wing profile—before receiving type certification in Germany. Its wooden structure is skinned in fibreglass. Production was eventually halted after fewer than two dozen examples were completed following corporate integration.

This page covers the Sportavia Putzer RS 180: the same aircraft under other designations.
