About the 77

The Beech Model 77 Skipper is an American fixed-wing general aviation airplane designed primarily for flight training, touring, and personal flying. It features a two-seat side-by-side enclosed cabin, fixed tricycle landing gear, and a single horizontally opposed piston engine.

Conceived in the mid-nineteen-seventies to compete in the primary trainer market, the aircraft made its maiden flight in 1975 and adopted a distinct T-tail configuration for production. It incorporates specialized low-speed airfoil technology and innovative construction techniques such as tubular spars and metal-to-metal bonding. Introduced during a severe market downturn, total production concluded in the early nineteen-eighties, with many units initially delivered to dedicated flight school networks.
