About the LC

The Aeronca LC is an American cabin monoplane designed for private owners and light transport. It features a fixed-wing cantilever low-wing layout with an enclosed cabin providing side-by-side seating for two people, powered by a single radial piston engine.

Developed during a period of increased aerodynamic focus, the model broke away from the manufacturer's typical high-wing braced designs by incorporating streamlined wheel spats and a Townend ring. Construction relied on a mixed approach of a welded steel fuselage with wooden wings covered in fabric. The program was ultimately hindered by sourcing difficulties for its engines and a destructive factory flood, leading the company to abandon the design and return to high-wing aircraft.
