About the B-121 Pup
The Beagle B.121 Pup is a British single-engine aircraft designed for training and touring. It accommodates a pilot alongside multiple passengers within an all-metal airframe. Marketed to flying clubs and private operators, it was built to offer a more spacious and robust alternative to aging trainers, featuring corrosion-proofing throughout its structure.
Developed in the late 1960s, the prototype made its maiden flight from Shoreham Airport, followed by subsequent variants featuring increased power and enlarged rudders. Despite generating global interest and orders, production suffered from high manufacturing costs and economic inefficiencies. Financial support was eventually withdrawn, leading to receivership after a fraction of the planned production run was completed.
