About the Pzl-104 Wilga 80

The Wsk-Pzl Warzawa-Okecie PZL-104 WILGA 80 is a single-engine, fixed-wing utility aircraft originating from Poland, designed for short-takeoff-and-landing performance. It is suited for civil aviation tasks including bush flying, parachute training, observation, touring, and glider towing, featuring a high-wing cantilever layout, conventional fixed undercarriage, and a four-seat cabin with upward-opening doors.

Following its initial flight in the spring of 1962, the aircraft remained in continuous production for decades under the original manufacturer and later corporate successors, surpassing one thousand built units. Early examples were powered by Soviet radial engines turning wooden composite propellers, while subsequent models introduced alternative powerplants like North American engines and metal propellers. The type became a staple of civil aero clubs and accumulated numerous awards in international rally and precision flying competitions, alongside light liaison and recovery roles in military service.
