About the RV-8
The Vans Aircraft RV-8 is a homebuilt fixed-wing aircraft featuring a single engine and a tandem seating layout that provides a fighter-like feel with center-line pilot and passenger placement. It suits pilots looking for responsive handling, excellent visibility, and cross-country capability, utilizing a wide fuselage and dual baggage compartments to accommodate occupants comfortably.
Designed to revisit the tandem concept, the prototype debuted in the mid-nineties and quickly gained widespread attention for its robust performance and aerobatic strengths. Various engine options have been approved over time, allowing builders to select powerplants that deliver exceptional climb rates and responsive flight characteristics.
