About the Super Cub

The Daytona Cub Super Cub is a fixed-wing homebuilt aircraft featuring a single engine and seating for two occupants. Designed as a traditional monoplane layout, it suits pilots interested in utility operations and recreational flying.

Originally introduced by Piper Aircraft in the late nineteen-forties, the design evolved from earlier cub models and remained in production for nearly four decades with over ten thousand examples built. It is well-regarded for bush flying, banner towing, and glider operations, and can be equipped with floats or skis. The airframe retains a steel tube frame covered in stretched fabric, and pilots have created numerous modifications ranging from extended baggage compartments to different powerplants and fuel tanks.
