About the PL-12

The Transavia PL-12 is an Australian fixed-wing agricultural aircraft designed for utility missions. It features a single-engine tractor configuration with a shoulder-wing layout, twin tail booms, and a pod fuselage equipped with a rear door. Built primarily to suit the needs of aerial topdressing, the aircraft accommodates a single pilot.

Developed from a foreign design originating in New Zealand, the type made its initial flight in the mid-sixties and later received airworthiness certification. Throughout its production lifespan, the manufacturer introduced several variant models incorporating alternative powerplants and aerodynamic refinements, eventually building a substantial number of airframes before ceasing assembly operations.
