About the Shark

The Shark Aero Shark is a single-engine, low-wing ultralight and light-sport aircraft built in Slovakia and the Czech Republic by Shark.Aero. Featuring a conventional layout with optionally fixed or retractable landing gear, it seats two occupants in tandem and suits recreational and specialized flying.

Formally announced at an exhibition in Germany, the aircraft is constructed primarily from carbon-fibre and glass fibre composites. The prototype performed its maiden flight in August 2009, with production commencing later. Over its operational history, modified versions of the type have achieved notable international records, including solo around-the-world flights by young pilots, and variants have also been delivered for specialized roles such as electronic warfare.

This page covers the Shark Aero Shark: the same aircraft under other designations.
