The Rans COYOTE is an American single-engined, high-wing monoplane classified as an ultralight fixed-wing aircraft. It accommodates a pilot and passenger in a tractor configuration and is available to builders either as a kit for amateur construction or as a fully completed light-sport aircraft. The layout features a welded steel tube cockpit paired with a riveted aluminum rear fuselage and tail surfaces.

Randy Schlitter created the initial single-seat variant due to dissatisfaction with existing market choices, leading to subsequent two-seat developments like the extended-span model. Depending on owner preference, the airframe can be fitted with conventional or tricycle landing gear, as well as floats or skis. The type achieved notable popularity internationally, with numerous examples registered across various countries and even completing transatlantic flights.
