About the P-3

The Pilatus P-3 is a fixed-wing military training aircraft built in Switzerland by Pilatus Aircraft. It is suited for primary and advanced training roles, including night flying, aerobatics, and instrument flying, utilizing an all-metal construction with tandem seating, a retractable tricycle undercarriage, and a single piston engine.

Following the flight of the initial prototype, the design underwent testing and evaluations against competitor aircraft before entering service with the Swiss Air Force. Variants included pre-series and military versions, alongside civilian-marked airframes later acquired by the Brazilian Navy. The fleet was utilized for training and liaison duties before being sold on the private market, with individual airframes also serving in target-towing roles.

This page covers the Pilatus P-3-05: the same aircraft under other designations.
