About the Do-27

The Dornier Do-27 is a German fixed-wing utility aircraft featuring a single engine and short takeoff and landing capabilities. Built with a classic high-wing tail-dragger layout and fixed landing gear, it features a relatively wide, comfortable cabin that accommodates a crew of one alongside passengers. The aircraft suits utility and transport roles, particularly appreciated for its excellent short-field performance.

Developed from a precursor designed in Spain to satisfy a military requirement, the aircraft became the first mass-produced type in Germany following the Second World War. It achieved significant commercial and export success, serving with numerous international operators with some examples remaining in use into the twenty-first century. Among its operational milestones, an example of the aircraft became the first to land on a notable Caribbean island airstrip known as the shortest commercial runway in the world.

This page covers the Dornier DO 27 A4, DO 27 Q-4, DO 27-Q6, DO-27 Q1, DO-27-A1, Do-27 H-2: the same aircraft under other designations.

On the label and not the count: the bands count every aircraft on the market (on_market) while the grid shows only those with a photo (live), so the count is not a promise of how many cards appear.
