About the Chinook WT-11

The Birdman CHINOOK WT-11 is a single-seat ultralight fixed-wing aircraft featuring a single engine in a pusher configuration. Designed with an enclosed cockpit and a tail-dragger landing gear layout, it suits individual pilots seeking recreational flight. The aircraft utilizes bolt and rivet aluminum tube construction covered in dacron sailcloth, employing a center-mounted stick, left-hand throttle, and a wing warping system for roll control.

Originating in Canada by Birdman Enterprises, the type first flew in December and entered production soon after. Early examples were powered by a Rotax engine with a belt drive, while later versions received different powerplants. Alongside the single-seat model, a two-seat trainer variant was introduced. The enterprise ceased operations after a brief production run, though hundreds of kits were distributed worldwide.
