About the 7ACA
The Bellanca 7ACA is a single-engine, high-wing light airplane featuring tandem seating for two occupants and fixed conventional landing gear. Built for flight training and private flying, this type is well suited for pilots learning tailwheel operations and recreational flying. It relies on a single horizontally opposed piston engine driving a wooden fixed-pitch propeller.
Developed as a post-war response to rival designs, the aircraft uses a triangular welded metal tube fuselage truss covered in fabric, paired with strut-braced wings. Unlike some contemporary trainers, it allows the pilot to solo from the front seat for better forward visibility. Over the decades, production passed through multiple companies, eventually returning to manufacturing to serve the light-sport aircraft category before production ended.
