About the 7CCM

The Aeronca 7CCM is a fixed-wing, type-certificated aircraft with a single engine and two tandem seats. It is designed as a lightweight, fabric-covered high-wing taildragger, making it ideal for pilots who want to develop traditional stick-and-rudder skills through affordable, low-and-slow recreational flying.

Originating from post-war designs, the series grew out of earlier tandem trainers through engine power increases and modifications to enlarge the dorsal fin. Many early examples served in a military liaison role, and thousands of various iterations were produced before manufacturing ceased. Today, active type clubs and owner communities provide essential support for keeping these vintage aircraft flying.
