About the Starship
The Beechcraft Starship 2000A is a twin-turboprop business aircraft produced in the United States. Designed to seat up to eight passengers in a pressurized cabin, it features an unconventional layout with a canard wing design, a pusher propeller configuration, and extensive carbon-fiber composite construction. It is suited for corporate transport and executive travel.
Development began when the manufacturer sought a faster successor to its existing turboprop line, partnering with Scaled Composites to build proof-of-concept prototypes and test airframes. Production was marked by high developmental complexity, significant manufacturing costs, and technical challenges such as pitch-damping issues, leading to a limited production run before manufacturing ceased.
