About the J-2 Arrow

The Auster J-2 Arrow is a British single-engine, high-wing touring monoplane built for two occupants. Developed as a post-war successor to an earlier pre-war design, the prototype flew in the mid-1940s powered by a flat-four air-cooled engine. Strict trade restrictions regarding American-built powerplants in the United Kingdom meant that the majority of the completed airframes were shipped overseas, primarily to Australia. Decades later, several surviving examples made their way back across international borders to remain active in the UK.
