About the S-12 Airaile

The As+ S-12 Airaile is a single-engine, pusher-configuration, high-wing monoplane featuring a twin-seat side-by-side layout and a tricycle undercarriage. Developed for recreational flying and flight training, it is supplied in kit form for homebuilders.

Crafted by Randy Schlitter, the design debuted in early 1990. Construction utilizes a welded steel cockpit mated to a bolted aluminum rear boom, wrapped in fabric surfaces. Although manufacturing of several related variants concluded following a major company product reorganization, sustained interest from buyers ensured that this particular model remained available by special request. The broader family has achieved widespread popularity and extensive deliveries worldwide.
