About the KA2-B
The Schleicher KA 2B is a wooden tandem two-seat training glider designed in Germany. It features a high-wing layout with marked forward sweep, an enclosed canopy system, and a conventional skid and wheel undercarriage, making it suitable for flight instruction and club gliding activities.
Following initial flight evaluations of the original design, developers increased the wingspan and lengthened the fuselage to enhance pitch stability and overall efficiency, particularly in weak thermal conditions. The revised variant saw extensive use across European gliding clubs and participated in numerous national record attempts for altitude and distance flights.
