About the KA 7

The Schleicher KA 7 is a West German high-wing, two-seat glider designed as a training aircraft that balances instructional utility with good performance. It features a welded steel tube fuselage covered in aircraft fabric, paired with a wooden wing structure equipped with dive brakes and a fixed monowheel landing gear.

The aircraft was conceived by its designer to offer dual instruction capabilities and was eventually succeeded on the production line after hundreds of units were completed. Operators have utilized the type for cross-country milestones, including setting a multi-place speed record during a triangular flight in South Africa, as well as for military cadet flight training.
