The A.Schleicher & ASK-21Mi is a type-certificated glass-reinforced plastic glider featuring a T-tail and a two-seat arrangement accommodating a student and an instructor. It is primarily designed for beginner training while remaining suited for cross-country flights and aerobatic instruction.
Formulated by Rudolf Kaiser as a successor to an earlier training glider, this model represents the manufacturer's first full-glass-reinforced-plastic two-seater, achieving its maiden flight in February 1979. A self-launching variant later joined the lineup, and the aircraft has remained in continuous production with a large number of completed examples.
