The Alexander Schleicher ASH 26 E is a single-seat glider built in Germany. It is designed as a motor glider featuring a retractable undercarriage and a liquid-cooled Wankel rotary engine, making it suitable for soaring pilots who require self-launching capabilities. The design was shaped by Martin Heide and first took to the air in 1993. The airframe utilizes carbon, aramid, and polyethylene fibre reinforced plastic along with pneumatic turbulators on the wings. Most of the units sold are equipped with the self-launching engine system.
