The Aeronca O-58B is a fixed-wing, single-engine aircraft configured with two seats. It suits observation, liaison, and training roles, utilizing a heavily glazed cabin and a high-wing strut-supported layout.
Adapted from pre-war commercial models, the aircraft was procured by the military for wartime reconnaissance and artillery spotting. Although initially evaluated during pre-war maneuvers, changing operational needs eventually relegated many to training fields, while derivative glider versions were also produced in quantity.
The O-58B is a variant of the Aeronca O-58 Grasshopper.
