About the CH-250 Zénith

The Zenair CH-250 Zénith is a Canadian single-engine, low-winged cantilever monoplane designed for homebuilt aviation and amateur construction. It features an all-metal construction with a fixed nosewheel undercarriage and a clear sideways-opening canopy enclosing a side-by-side seating arrangement for two occupants. It is typically powered by a single air-cooled flat-four piston engine.

The aircraft was designed by Chris Heintz, who began the project in France before establishing Zenair in Canada to distribute plans and kits. Following its initial maiden flight, the design gained widespread popularity among homebuilders in North America and internationally, with hundreds built and flown. Notably, a demonstration unit was constructed by volunteer labor in a matter of days at an annual aviation convention.
