About the Kis TR-1

The Tri-R KIS TR-1 is an American fixed-wing homebuilt aircraft featuring a single-engine layout and an enclosed cockpit. It is suited for amateur construction enthusiasts looking to build their own personal transport, accommodating a pilot and passenger in a side-by-side seating arrangement. The airframe utilizes a cantilever low-wing configuration and is constructed from composite materials.

The designer originally created the concept for an overseas client before bringing the project back home to finish it. Production was handled by a California firm, and the aircraft was supplied in kit form with an estimated completion time measured in thousands of hours. It can be equipped with a few different powerplant options and features a rectangular wing utilizing a specific laminar flow airfoil design, along with fixed landing gear.
