About the 108

The Stinson 108 is an American high-wing, fixed-gear general aviation aircraft designed to seat four occupants. Powered by a single six-cylinder piston engine driving a fixed-pitch propeller, it is typically utilized as a light personal or utility transport, featuring a fabric-covered steel tube fuselage layout.

Evolving directly from a prewar precursor, the type entered production immediately after the Second World War. Thousands of examples were manufactured before ownership transferred to another plane maker, which completed remaining inventories and spare-part assemblies. The design incorporated partial leading-edge slots to ensure docile stall characteristics, and aftermarket converters have frequently fitted alternative powerplants or metal coverings.
