About the Cap 231

The Avions Mudry Cie CAP 231 is a single-engine, single-seat fixed-wing aircraft built for competition aerobatics. Developed in France from an earlier competition single-seater, it suits pilot aerobatic teams and competitive flyers seeking high agility.

The manufacturer strengthened the fuselage framework to accommodate a six-cylinder horizontally opposed engine. Modifications to the wing leading edges were introduced to minimize buffeting during high-force pull-ups. Examples served with a military aerobatics display team and achieved success in international championships. Following safety-related grounding periods and subsequent structural reinforcements to the landing gear attachment points, these aircraft returned to competitive flying.
